CUSTOM EXTERIOR SHUTTERS

By far and away the most popular style shutter we offer. This style of shutter is the go to piece for many different applications. Finished thicknesses range from 1-1/8” to 1-3/8” Stiles 1-3/4” Top and Bottom Rails 2 3/8″ Cross Rails 3 1/2″. These can be furnished with horns (a one inch extension of the stile) at no extra cost. Cross rails can be positioned at any height. This shutter can have either fixed slats with control rods or can be made moveable.

This shutter is commonly seen on the historic homes of Beacon Hill, and the South End in Boston. This design dates from the 1850’s. Wide scalloped cornered louvers project beyond the face of the frame stock which is typically 1-3/8” to 1-3/4” thick. Cross rails can be positioned at any height.

This early traditional coastal style shutter is shown with a simple molding and well spaced, wide bull nosed louvers. They are pitched at a shallower angle than a standard shutter and cast a much deeper shadow line.

This early Federal style shutter features bevelved slats at 3/8” x 2-1/4” and moldings at 5/16 x 1/2”. This shutter shows joinery of exposed beveled louvers and the absence of a horizontal middle rail. A molding is sometimes set back slightly and surrounds the panel.

This curved top shutter for Palladian style windows can be made in any size. We do require a template or a dimensioned drawing of the window. These shutters are seen on contemporary homes as well as historic buildings. Cross rails can be positioned at any height.

This heavy duty exterior shutter can be found on numerous historic industrial buildings, and turn of the century factories in the mill towns of Lowell, Lawrence, and Nashua. The most unique feature of The Lowell Shutter is its convex/concave beaded closure detail. See below for Styles

The unique WB-201 design offers the ventilation and privacy benifits of our louvered pieces, while giving you the option for some creativity by picking a custom cut-out for your top panel. A New England Classic, our Board and Batten design features open boards, board widths to be determined based on need, spaced to whatever width is desired. Then we add symmetrical vertical batten stock 3″ to 4″ wide with exposed stainless fasteners. We can also blind plug the fasteners as needed. Made from 1-1/8″ to 1-3/8″ thick stock.
